Some people are able to begin school as soon as they graduate from High School, some people take their time and decide to go after they have started a family, and some people work full time or part-time jobs.
SO HOW DO YOU FIT SCHOOL INTO YOUR BUSY LIFE?
Remember, you’re not just going to school, you’re fulfilling a dream! Get clarity on your long term goals. Once you figure out what you want to accomplish, there are steps you need to take to make it happen. Simple steps to get you started are:
Tour schools and choose which one is right for you.
You will want to be comfortable and happy while attending school. American Beauty Academy has a fun, family style environment with a real professional focus.
Figure out how to pay for school.
Once you have filled out your FAFSA, American Beauty Academy can take a look and see what grants and loans are available to you. We can even help you get started filling it out!
Look at your schedule and decide how much time you have to commit to school.
At American Beauty Academy, we have a flexible schedule for both full-time students and part-time students. Utah requires cosmetology students to have 1600 hours.
With a full-time schedule, you can graduate in less than a year, with a part-time schedule most graduate in about 14 months.
With a part-time schedule, you will get the same hands-on, quality training you would in a full-time program, but in a way that better fits your life. American Beauty Academy has a reputation for excellence and a faculty and staff that really care about you and your career.
Once you have made the commitment to begin working towards your dream, there are ways to involve your family so your education becomes a family project:
Since your entire family will benefit once you’ve graduated, earned your license and have gotten a job in a salon, they will likely support you in this goal. You can even have your family come in for appointments with you and in some cases, they will get a family discount on their services.
