The American Beauty Academy student spotlight for April 2021 is Rosie, one of our amazing cosmetology students. We asked Rosie to share her experience of our cosmetology program.

Q: What made you want to go to cosmetology school?
Besides having a passion for hair, nails, and style; I would like to have my own schedule, make good money, plus finish my schooling in just a year.

Q: What has been your favorite thing about American Beauty Academy?
My favorite thing about attending American Beauty Academy is practicing highlights, toning the hair, haircutting, and styling hair.

Q: Name a time at American Beauty Academy that made you proud of yourself?
I am so proud when I have customers and students specifically request me by name for their service on their hair because they liked how I did it last time.

Q: Of all the products used at American Beauty Academy, what is your favorite and why?
My favorite product has been the Joico lightener because it can lift the hair up to 9 levels.

Q: What would you say to people who are thinking of coming to American Beauty Academy?
I would like people to come visit and give it a try.

The lady that gave me haircut did good job not just her why I like coming back here because me just get bald faded or just bald. I’ve been coming here for the past 6 months or so. I love it here. The staff is really nice and helpful. I was afraid of coming here due to it being a school, but they have the teachers look over and make sure your hair is on point. This is a great way to try different hair styles when you’re on a budget and gives students a chance to learn and grow each time you go. Highly recommended.

The warm welcome the receptionist gave was a great first impression. The instructor (Annette) was very hands on and helpful. The two students ( Stephanie and Jasmie) who rocked my hair, were very fun and polite and only needed minimal instruction. I felt like I was in good hands, the second I walked in the door. I'll be back again soon, thank you!

Lucero is an amazing stylist. She’s fun to talk to and a good listener and makes getting your hair done enjoyable. I did have to come in a second time to do the color since here wasn’t enough time during my appointment but we were able to work everything out and overall a very good place to go. The cut was VERY affordable.

Great service, loved my 7 year olds hair cut! Can you say dapper??? However, the students smoke in the parking lot right in front of the school. Kinda tacky, in your car or on the side of the building. I saw at least 4 students and instructors smoking and all I could think was please don’t be the person helping me.

Went to get a cut and color and could not have had a better experience! Angela was thorough and patient with me and my questions. We went from dark brown to light ash blonde and she never got discouraged! Would definitely come back!

The people here are extraordinary. They are very helpful when it comes to achieving you’re desired hair goal. With all of the colors I do with my hair they have always provided excellent service and quality colors. Ana solis helped me to achieve the hair goal I was going for. I wanted a full on pink hair, but she suggested a pink balayage & it actually turned out better! All i can say is WOW! What an experience it started off when i walked through the door and was greeted by Kaitlin the wonderful receptionist, whom promptly got me checked in and seated with Linzie. Once seated i knew right away that Linzie was the cats meow, she went the extra mile to make sure that i had exactly the hair cut i wanted and even applied some moisturizer to my face! Linzie transformed me from a frog to a handsome prince!

I brought my mother here to get her hair done. I had never been here, but it's close to her home. The girls here are amazing. We were 15 minutes late, but they still got us right in. Her stylist payed very close attention to what she wanted and is making magic happen. Will definitely come again if I'm in town.

Narda stayed 5 hours after her shift to do my hair when the other girl didn’t show up. She had her threee kids and didn’t eat dinner to do my hair. She sewed in my weave and it was so beautiful!!! I love it. Would totally go to her again. She’s truly amazing

I've had a great experience here! This is a great place to go to. The instructors are very knowledgeable and quick to respond to students questions. At some schools I've gone to in the past, there has been a long wait for the instructors because the ratio of instructors to students. And the instructors were constantly checking everyone's work. It was wonderful. I could tell how much they really care. I was very impressed with everything and everyone. Otilia did a great job with my hair! It looks gorgeous! It was her first full weave too! Color is striking! I'll definitely be back!

If you're needing a pedicure just for an everyday reasons then it's a great place to go. Great price and everyone is very friendly. But expect to spend a bit longer than you would at a regular salon as they are students and therefore take a bit longer.Parking availability isn't great so expect that there could be a wait for a parking spot or a bit of a walk. This seemed to be worse earlier in the day (before 7pm).I would recommend American Beauty Academy for a pedicure as a "just a treat for yourself" kind of thing. And as I don't treat myself often enough to pedicures, I'm thinking I found a great way to do just that.

I had an amazing experience here. I had really long hair and decided to cut it short, so I showed them the picture and they were able to reproduce it exactly the way I wanted it. This is the best highlighting that I have had in a long time!! They were extremely professional and friendly. I was a little nervous about getting a hair cut from a student, but Brenda was wonderful! She listened to me and put me at ease. The instructors were awesome as well!!! I would expect to pay $200 for a cut, style, and full color weave at a salon of this quality, but the price through groupon is so reasonable!! I am definitely recommending this place to my friends and colleagues, and I look forward to returning for touch ups and to try other services. Thank you so much for making me feel beautiful!!
